Leinenkugel's is celebrating their 150th anniversary this year. That's a pretty fantastic milestone for one of America's best brewers, and they're celebrating this monumental event with a collaboration brew with Hofbräu München. Sounds pretty good, right? Read on for all the details straight from MillerCoors!

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis., March 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company is creating a limited-edition Leinenkugel's Anniversary Lager with Munich-based Hofbräu München to celebrate its 150th anniversary this year. The collaboration brew is one part of a year-long celebration that includes new packaging, a slate of summer programs and a party in Chippewa Falls for the Wisconsin-based brewery.

Set to arrive on draft at select bars in April and available in six-packs in June, Leinenkugel's Anniversary Lager incorporates American hops and some German malt. Further, the MÓ“rzen-style lager is brewed in the spirit of Reinheitsgebot, the German Beer Purity Law dating back to the 1500s that regulated what was allowed to go into beer, to commemorate Leinenkugel's brewing heritage while looking toward its future. Leinenkugel's Anniversary Lager will be brewed in Chippewa Falls, with a limited amount of draft being brewed in Germany.

"As we discussed how to celebrate this incredible milestone for our brewery, we wanted to ensure whatever we did was truly genuine and in the spirit of what we've been doing for a century and a half," said Dick Leinenkugel, president of the Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company. "Partnering with Hofbräu München was a natural fit because of the similarities between our two breweries - German brewing history, innovation and a commitment to providing fans with the best beer possible."

Drinkers able to get ahold of the collaboration brew will notice a subtle, toasty sweetness upfront as a result of the malt character with tropical notes from added Mosaic hops. Leinenkugel's Anniversary Lager comes in at 5.4 percent ABV and 25 IBUs.

"Leinenkugel's envisioned a beer that honored its storied history, so that is exactly what we've helped create with the Leinenkugel's Anniversary Lager," said Dr. Michael Möller, director of Hofbräu München. "The beer has more than 550 years of combined experience behind it, is brewed in the spirit of Reinheitsgebot and has equal influence from their innovative flavors and our tried-and-trued traditions. We like to think of this as a 'cheers' that crosses the Atlantic."

Before the collaboration brew is officially available nationwide, Leinenkugel's will introduce new packaging for its entire portfolio for the first time in 10 years. The new look highlights Leinenkugel's proud family name and brings the signature outdoorsy feel and an eye-catching color to the forefront. The new packaging will be seen as the brewery's flagship Leinenkugel's Summer Shandy hits shelves in March and will ramp up as more beers arrive throughout the year.

Along with several initiatives currently being planned across the country, the celebration will culminate with an official anniversary party at the Northern Wisconsin State Fairgrounds in Chippewa Falls the weekend of August 11. Leinenkugel's fans of legal drinking age are invited to join the family as they toast their milestone moment.

"The celebration will begin with our biggest collaboration brew in history and a complete packaging refresh across our entire portfolio, but we have a lot more on the way and recognize a proper cheers with our fans is the only way to cap it off," said Leinenkugel. "For those unable to make it to the official celebration in August, thank you for your continued support of our family's beers."

The 2016 Castor River Clean-Up was a huge success! We pulled a LOT of trash out of the river; everything from tires and coolers to bottles and jugs. There was a strong effort from our volunteer crew to make a huge difference in the Castor River.

Huge thanks go out to our sponsor, Leinenkugel's, as well as to the Missouri Stream Team for all of their support and hard work.

Make plans to join us next year. It's a really fun event, and a great opportunity to give back to an area that gives us all a great place to relax and enjoy nature.

In the mean time, be sure to do your best to leave our rivers and streams better than you found them. Next time you're out in your canoe or wading with a fly rod, keep a bag handy for any trash you may come across and keep Missouri waters clean!

Spokes in Farmington, MO hosted the 2016 Frosty Brewfest & Winter Warmup on January 23. It was a chilly day (okay, downright cold), but the craft beer and whiskey was flowing and good times were had all around!

We were proud to see many of our Missouri brewers represented- Urban Chestnut, Mother's, Piney River, Leaky Roof, Charleville and Cathedral Square- along side great breweries like Big Muddy and Big Sky.

With great grub and live music, it was a fun day and a great opportunity to check out some really great brews. We hope you had a great time as well!

Winter Beers Are Here!
This time of year brings about thoughts of holiday cheer, family get-togethers and, of course, winter beer!

We're excited about the line up from our breweries this year. Some old favorites stand beside newer brews, and Bluff City is stocking these beers all over the place right now!

So, with a layout like this, where do we start? Let's just dig in and start making you thirsty...

Mother's Winter Grind
Mother's Brewing Company

Winter Grind is more or less a standard for the winter season. This tasty stout combines with cold-brewed espresso blend which is roasted by the Mudhouse in Springfield, MO, not far from Mother's tanks of love. At 6% ABV, this is a stout that will give coffee and stout lovers a reason to cheer!

This year, Mother's went the extra mile and created Vanilla Winter Grind. The small, first batch was very well received, and so they are releasing 22oz bombers out now. Get your kiss of vanilla with your Winter Grind!

Urban Chestnut Winter Warmer Variety Pack
Urban Chestnut Brewing Co.

UC's fine selection here is sure to give you a very merry Christmas!
The pack includes two each of four fantastic beers: Kinsale, Hollermöffel, Cocoa CowTao and Chouteau Joe. Each of these beers brings a unique taste to the pack. Which makes a great gift. Easy to wrap. Attn: my wife...

Kinsale is a Foreign Extra Stout, named for the southern Ireland town boasting a Caribbean sister town of the same name. What that means for you is this tasty brew has an Irish-perfected, Caribbean-loved taste full of roasted malt flavors and generous hops.
ABV: 7%
IBU: 27
OG: 17.3

Hollermöffel is a smoky, roasty bock that sits well by the fire after an evening shoveling the driveway. Warm up to Hollermöffel!
ABV: 7%
IBU: 22
OG: 16.5

Tao is Chinese for "path" or "way," and if you're looking for a safe way to get to the bottom of a tasty chocolate milk stout, then the Cocoa CowTao is it!
ABV: 5.0%
IBU: 30
OG: 13.5

The fourth beer to round up the variety pack is Chouteau Joe. You can probably figure out that "Joe" means coffee in this instance, but Chouteau? Auguste Chouteau founded St. Louis in 1764. This beer is a tip of the hat to Auguste, blending beer from Urban Chestnut with coffee from Kaldi's, a St. Louis staple since 1994. Raise a glass of this STL tribute this holiday season!
ABV: 5.2%
IBU: 30
OG: 14.2

Leinenkugel really digs in during this winter brew season, and two of their winter beers are among our favorites!

If honey-glazed ham is on your holiday menu, then the Cranberry Ginger Shandy is a great teammate! This combo of wheat beer with natural cranberry flavor and a note of ginger is the perfect compliment to your holiday meal.
ABV: 4.2%
IBU: 11

If a full-bodied brew is more your style, then the Snowdrift Vanilla Porter is a great choice. Hints of cocoa, coffee and caramel are brought out by toasted malts and aged on real vanilla. It's a smooth beer that snuggles in just right for winter.
ABV: 6%
IBU: 16

Boulevard brings a little spice to the holidays with their Nutcracker Ale. This classic winter ale blends the spiciness of Chinook hops with sweet molasses for a tasty, full-bodied beer.

ABV: 7.8% IBU: 38
OG: 16

Snow & Tell
is Boulevard's newest winter seasonal beer and is their interpretation of a scotch ale or wee heavy, marked by a rich, caramel malt sweetness punctuated by spicy/herbal hops.

Boulevard briefly ages the beer on medium toasted oak chips at the end of fermentation to give it a bit of an edge. Overall, this is a great sipper on a cool night, and Boulevard suggests pairing with heavy meat dishes, strong aged cheeses, chocolate and shortbread.
ABV: 6.3%
IBU: 25

Big Muddy Brewing Co's Winter Ale is another one of those "must-have" beers for the winter season. Brewed only during the cold months of the year, this medium-bodied winter warmer is balanced with roasted malt complexity and subtle hints of cinnamon, ginger and vanilla creating an inviting and festive ale that is the perfect accompaniment for any holiday occasion.

We wrap up our winter feature with two beers from Charleville, the first of which is Late Night Karate Kicks. Brewed with coffee from St. Louis's Chauvin Coffee Co. (specifically, their "Highland Grog" coffee blend), LNKK is a dark coffee stout that is meant to kick it up a notch!
ABV: 6.3%

Charleville's other Christmas taste sensation is the heavyweight, Whiskey Scented Santa. Sure, the name's a little tongue-in-cheek, but at 11.5%, this porter is definitely one to savor this holiday season! It's aged with whiskey-infused oak chips, which gives this brew a unique, complex flavor to excite even the most discerning palate.

Be sure to cruise to your favorite watering hole or store soon to check out any of these great winter brews!

Bucyrus, Missouri - Piney River Brewing won a gold and three silver awards at the US Beer Open Championships on July 4th.  The competition featured over 4,000 beers from 90 different styles from breweries from around the world.  An international panel of judges gave the awards based on blind taste tests.

Piney River’s Crankbait Cream Ale received a gold award in the “American Cream Ale” category.  This beer is a spring seasonal for the brewery, so it is no longer in production until next spring.

Three silver awards were given to Piney River for McKinney Eddy Amber Ale, Black Walnut Wheat and Hobby Farm Ale.

McKinney Eddy Amber Ale received the silver in the “Irish Red Ale” category.  This beer is made year round by the brewery.  It was the first beer Piney River packaged for distribution at the brewery in 2011.

Black Walnut Wheat is the brewery’s flagship beer, and it took a silver in the “American Style Dark Wheat” category.  This beer is made with locally sourced black walnuts.

Hobby Farm Ale is Piney River’s current seasonal beer, and it’s brewed with honey and fresh basil.  Hobby Farm Ale’s silver was in the “Herb and Spice Beer” category.

“Once again, it’s a great honor for us to shine the spotlight on the Ozarks with these four awards,” Brian Durham, owner and head brewer at Piney River Brewing, said.  “Our goal has always been to make high quality craft beer, and these awards show that the hard work of our brewing team is paying off.”

Piney River has also won gold awards at the World Beer Cup, the Great American Beer Festival and the Best of Craft Beer Awards.

All of Piney River’s beers are packaged in 16-ounce pint cans and kegs and sold for distribution throughout the Ozarks.  We're proud to be your local distributor for Piney River Beer in Cape Girardeau, Poplar Bluff and Herculaneum.

Currently a $1.2 million expansion is underway on the Bucyrus farm where the brewery is located.  A larger brewhouse, fermentation and packaging line are part of the expansion in a 12,000 square foot building located next to the original barn where the brewery began.

Plans are currently underway for Piney River to expand distribution to St. Louis in the fall.  Eventually, the brewery hopes to distribute beer throughout the entire state of Missouri.
